AUGUST 2026
OUR MONTH OF THE NEW THING
Monthly Anchor Scripture
"Remember ye not the former things, neither consider the things of old. Behold, I will do a new thing; now it shall spring forth; shall ye not know it? I will even make a way in the wilderness, and rivers in the desert."
Isaiah 43:18–19 (KJV)
DAY 9
WEEK 2 — ALIGNING WITH THE NEW THING
Focus: Surrender, order, character, health, and spiritual positioning.
Reality: God's new thing requires a prepared vessel.
Surrender Before Strategy
Anchor Scripture
Proverbs 3:5–6 (KJV)
"Trust in the LORD with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding. In all thy ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy paths."
Opening Thought
We often ask God for a strategy when what He first requires is surrender.
We want the blueprint, the opportunity, the resources, and the results. But God is often working on something deeper: preparing the person who will carry what He is about to release.
The new thing begins with alignment.
Reflection
Abraham had to leave before he could inherit.
Peter had to step out before he could walk on water.
The disciples had to leave their nets before they could follow Jesus.
Surrender does not mean abandoning ambition. It means placing our ambition under God's direction.
Sometimes God says, "Wait."
Sometimes He says, "Let go."
Sometimes He says, "Start."
Sometimes He says, "Change."
The difficulty is that we often want God's destination without submitting to His process.
A new season cannot be sustained by an old mindset.
Before God builds something new around you, He often builds something new within you.
Surrender your plans.
Surrender your timing.
Surrender your methods.
Surrender your expectations.
Then allow God to direct your steps.
Prayer
Lord, I surrender my plans, ambitions, expectations, and timing to You. Remove anything within me that is misaligned with Your purpose. Teach me to trust Your direction even when I cannot see the whole path. Prepare me to carry everything You are bringing into this new season. In Jesus' name, Amen.
Declarations
- I surrender my plans to God's greater purpose.
- My heart is aligned with God's will.
- I trust God's direction even when I cannot see the entire path.
- God is preparing me for what He has prepared for me.
- I will not rush what God is building.
Spirit Challenge
Before making an important decision today, pause and pray: "Lord, what do You want me to do?" Write down what comes to mind and compare it with God's Word before acting.
Closing Exhortation
The greatest strategy for entering God's new thing is not control but alignment. When your heart is surrendered to God, your steps become easier to direct. Let God prepare you before He promotes you.
Live differently.
