AUGUST 2026

OUR MONTH OF THE NEW THING

Monthly Anchor Scripture

"Remember ye not the former things, neither consider the things of old. Behold, I will do a new thing; now it shall spring forth; shall ye not know it? I will even make a way in the wilderness, and rivers in the desert."

DAY 10

WEEK 2 — ALIGNING WITH THE NEW THING

Focus: Surrender, order, character, health, and spiritual positioning.
Reality: The strength of tomorrow's generation is shaped by the culture we build in our homes today.

Building Strong Homes for a New Generation

Anchor Scripture

Joshua 24:15 (KJV)

"And if it seem evil unto you to serve the LORD, choose you this day whom ye will serve; but as for me and my house, we will serve the LORD."

Opening Thought

God's new thing is not only about what happens in public. It is also about what we build in private.

A strong future requires strong homes.

Before children learn from classrooms, social media, technology, or society, they are shaped by the atmosphere of the home.

The home is one of God's most powerful places for building character, faith, wisdom, and identity.

Reflection

Joshua understood that leadership began at home.

He did not merely say, "I will serve the Lord."

He declared:

"As for me and my house, we will serve the LORD."

That is a statement of household culture.

A new generation needs more than material provision. It needs parents and families who model integrity, prayer, responsibility, discipline, kindness, forgiveness, and faith.

Technology is changing how families communicate.

Education is changing how children learn.

Society is changing how people understand relationships.

But the need for healthy homes has not changed.

Our homes should become places where children learn that success is more than money, strength is more than appearance, and leadership begins with character.

For married couples, this means protecting communication and partnership.

For parents, it means being intentional about what children see and hear.

For everyone, it means creating a household culture where love, respect, truth, responsibility, and faith are practiced consistently.

You cannot build a new generation accidentally.

You build it intentionally.

Prayer

Father, help us build homes that reflect Your Kingdom. Give parents wisdom, spouses grace, and families the strength to create environments where faith, love, discipline, wisdom, and character can flourish. Let our homes become foundations for a generation that knows You and serves You faithfully. In Jesus' name, Amen.

Declarations

  • My home is becoming a place of peace, wisdom, love, and godly influence.
  • I build relationships with patience, understanding, and intentionality.
  • My family will not merely inherit possessions; we will inherit and transmit godly values.
  • I model the character I want the next generation to carry.
  • As for me and my house, we will serve the Lord.

Spirit Challenge

Do one intentional thing today to strengthen your household culture. Pray together, have a meaningful conversation, encourage someone in your family, teach a valuable life lesson, or resolve a small conflict with patience.

Closing Exhortation

The new thing God is doing will eventually reach the next generation. Build your home today with the kind of faith, wisdom, love, and character you want tomorrow's generation to inherit.

Live differently.

Surrender Before Strategy
We want the blueprint, the opportunity, the resources, and the results. But God is often working on something deeper: preparing the person who will carry what He is about to release...
