AUG 30–31 — ESTABLISHING THE NEW THING
Focus: Permanence, testimony, thanksgiving, and forward momentum.
Reality: What God starts, He desires to establish.
Thanksgiving: Celebrating the New Thing and Stepping into September
Anchor Scripture
Psalm 103:1–2 (NKJV) “Bless the Lord, O my soul; and all that is within me, bless His holy name! Bless the Lord, O my soul, and forget not all His benefits.”
Opening Thought
Thanksgiving is the ultimate seal of faith. It acknowledges where God brought you from, celebrates what He has accomplished in the present, and prepares your heart to step into the future with expectancy.
As this month comes to a close, take time to look back at the ways God has aligned your life, renewed your mind, and birthed new pathways.
Gratitude turns what we have into enough and opens the gate for greater dimensions of grace as a new month begins.
Reflection
When Jesus stood at the tomb of Lazarus, before performing the miracle of resurrection, He lifted up His eyes and said, “Father, I thank You that You have heard Me” (John 11:41). Thanksgiving opens the door to manifestation and establishes forward momentum.
Reflecting on your journey this month involves three attitudes:
- Commemorating God’s Faithfulness: Recounting specific answers to prayer, breakthroughs, and moments of quiet guidance.
- Guarding Your Testimony: Sharing what God has done so that your faith remains anchored and others are encouraged.
- Stepping Forward in Prophetic Expectation: Entering the upcoming season with confidence, knowing that He who began a good work will complete it.
As you step out of August and into September, carry an altar of praise in your heart. The new thing has sprung forth, and God is leading you forward in victory.
Prayer
Gracious Father, I offer You my highest praise and heartfelt thanksgiving for all You have done throughout this month. Thank You for doing a new thing, opening streams in my desert, and establishing my steps. I step into September with joy, confidence, and expectation, knowing Your goodness will follow me continuously. In Jesus' name, Amen.
Declarations
- I offer continuous praise to God for His faithfulness, mercy, and guidance.
- I forget not His benefits; my heart is full of gratitude and testimony.
- The new work God has birthed in me is established and flourishing.
- I step into September with joy, strength, and expectation of greater grace.
Spirit Challenge
Take 10 minutes today to write out a list of at least 5 specific blessings, revelations, or growth milestones you experienced this month, and offer a prayer of praise for each.
Closing Exhortation
End this season with a shout of praise. Give thanks for the new thing God has done, and step boldly into the next horizon He has prepared for you.
