AUGUST 2026
OUR MONTH OF THE NEW THING
Monthly Anchor Scripture
"Remember ye not the former things, neither consider the things of old. Behold, I will do a new thing; now it shall spring forth; shall ye not know it? I will even make a way in the wilderness, and rivers in the desert."
Isaiah 43:18–19 (KJV)
DAY 30
AUG 30–31 — ESTABLISHING THE NEW THING
Focus: Permanence, testimony, thanksgiving, and forward momentum.
Reality: What God starts, He desires to establish.
Establishing the New Thing for the Long Term
Anchor Scripture
1 Peter 5:10 (NKJV) “But may the God of all grace, who called us to His eternal glory by Christ Jesus, after you have suffered a while, perfect, establish, strengthen, and settle you.”
Opening Thought
Enthusiasm starts a new thing, but discipline, structure, and stewardship establish it for the long term. God does not desire for His works in your life to be temporary flashes of inspiration that fade away with passing seasons.
What God begins in grace must be preserved through intentional systems, holy habits, and consistent execution.
To establish the new thing means creating an environment where spiritual growth, business expansion, and personal discipline can endure.
Reflection
When David prepared to pass the kingdom to Solomon, he did not just pass down a prophetic promise; he organized the priests, gathered the building materials, and laid out structural plans for the Temple (1 Chronicles 28:11–19). Preparation and structure secured the long-term success of the divine assignment.
Establishing God's work requires three key practices:
- Systematizing Good Habits: Turning temporary spiritual, financial, and physical victories into permanent routines.
- Building Guardrails: Setting clear boundaries to protect your time, focus, and energy from old patterns of compromise.
- Dependence on God's Sustaining Grace: Recognizing that human effort constructs the structure, but God gives the endurance.
As you step out of the season of launching into the season of establishing, structure your life to carry what God has built.
Prayer
Heavenly Father, thank You for the new thing You have birthed in my life this month. Give me the wisdom, discipline, and stamina to build systems and structures that preserve Your blessings. Establish my hands, strengthen my resolve, and settle me in Your purpose. In Jesus' name, Amen.
Declarations
- What God has started in my life, He will sustain and establish.
- I build sustainable systems, godly routines, and disciplined habits daily.
- I am protected from slipping back into old patterns and past limitations.
- The new work of God in my life is permanent, fruitful, and long-lasting.
Spirit Challenge
Review the habits and insights you gained this month. Write down two specific systems or boundaries you will put in place to ensure these changes remain permanent.
Closing Exhortation
Do not leave your growth to chance. Build the structures, honor the habits, and let God establish the work of your hands for the long haul.
