AUGUST 2026
OUR MONTH OF THE NEW THING
Monthly Anchor Scripture
"Remember ye not the former things, neither consider the things of old. Behold, I will do a new thing; now it shall spring forth; shall ye not know it? I will even make a way in the wilderness, and rivers in the desert."
Isaiah 43:18–19 (KJV)
DAY 15
WEEK 2 — ALIGNING WITH THE NEW THING
Focus: Surrender, order, character, health, and spiritual positioning.
Reality: Before the new thing becomes visible around you, prayer prepares you to recognize and carry it.
Prayer That Positions You for the New Thing
Anchor Scripture
Jeremiah 33:3 (KJV)
"Call unto me, and I will answer thee, and shew thee great and mighty things, which thou knowest not."
Opening Thought
Prayer is not merely asking God to change circumstances.
Prayer changes our position.
It brings our hearts into alignment with God's purposes and makes us sensitive to what He is doing.
Sometimes the answer to prayer is not a changed situation but a changed perspective.
Reflection
Jesus prayed before major moments.
He prayed before choosing His disciples.
He prayed before the cross.
He withdrew from crowds to spend time with the Father.
The early Church prayed before major decisions and movements.
Prayer positions us to recognize the new thing.
When we pray, we become less dependent on our own understanding.
We begin to see possibilities we could not see before.
We receive courage to obey.
We receive wisdom to act.
We receive strength to wait.
This month, do not merely pray, "Lord, give me something new."
Pray:
"Lord, make me ready for what You are doing."
Ask Him to reveal what needs to change.
Ask Him to show you what needs to begin.
Ask Him to expose distractions.
Ask Him to open your eyes.
Ask Him to align your desires with His purpose.
The new thing requires spiritual sensitivity.
And prayer cultivates it.
Prayer
Father, I call upon You concerning the new thing You are doing in this season. Open my eyes to see what I have not recognized. Give me wisdom to understand Your direction, courage to obey Your instruction, and patience to follow Your timing. Align my heart with Your purpose and make me ready for what You are bringing forth. In Jesus' name, Amen.
Declarations
- My spirit is sensitive to God's direction.
- I recognize what God is doing in this season.
- Prayer aligns my heart with God's purpose.
- I receive wisdom for decisions, courage for obedience, and strength for the journey.
- I am prepared to recognize, receive, and steward God's new thing.
Spirit Challenge
Set aside at least 15 minutes today without your phone or other distractions. Pray specifically about one area where you are expecting God's new thing and listen quietly after praying.
Closing Exhortation
Prayer does more than bring requests before God. It positions your heart to recognize His answers. Keep praying, keep listening, and keep aligning. The new thing may already be beginning, but you need spiritual eyes to recognize it.
Live differently.
