AUGUST 2026
OUR MONTH OF THE NEW THING
Monthly Anchor Scripture
"Remember ye not the former things, neither consider the things of old. Behold, I will do a new thing; now it shall spring forth; shall ye not know it? I will even make a way in the wilderness, and rivers in the desert."
Isaiah 43:18–19 (KJV)
DAY 14 — AUGUST 14, 2026
WEEK 2 — ALIGNING WITH THE NEW THING
Focus: Surrender, order, character, health, and spiritual positioning.
Reality: What constantly captures your attention eventually shapes your life.
Ordering Your Digital Life
Anchor Scripture
Ephesians 5:15–16 (KJV)
"See then that ye walk circumspectly, not as fools, but as wise, Redeeming the time, because the days are evil."
Opening Thought
Technology is not the enemy.
But uncontrolled technology can quietly become the master of your attention.
Your phone can connect you to knowledge, opportunity, ministry, education, business, and people around the world.
It can also consume hours without producing anything meaningful.
The difference is intentionality.
Reflection
Every notification asks for a piece of your attention.
Every platform competes for your time.
Every endless scroll creates another opportunity to postpone what actually matters.
The question is not whether you use technology.
The question is whether you control your use of technology or technology controls you.
Jesus taught the importance of focused attention.
Paul taught believers to redeem their time.
The principle remains relevant in the digital age.
Use AI to learn.
Use social media to communicate.
Use digital platforms to build.
Use technology to create.
But do not surrender your attention to algorithms.
Create boundaries.
Turn off unnecessary notifications.
Protect your quiet time.
Set periods for focused work.
Make room for prayer, family, learning, rest, and real conversations.
Your attention is a resource.
Spend it intentionally.
Prayer
Lord, help me bring order to my digital life. Give me wisdom to use technology without becoming controlled by it. Help me protect my attention, redeem my time, and use digital tools for learning, creativity, connection, service, and Kingdom purpose.
Declarations
- I control my digital habits; they do not control me.
- My attention is valuable, and I spend it intentionally.
- Technology serves my purpose rather than becoming my master.
- I protect time for God, family, learning, work, and rest.
- I use digital opportunities with wisdom and discipline.
Spirit Challenge
Choose one digital distraction that regularly consumes your attention and create a specific boundary around it today.
Closing Exhortation
Technology is powerful, but attention is more valuable. Do not allow a tool designed to serve you to become the thing that controls you. Put your digital life back in order.
Live differently.
