AUGUST 2026
OUR MONTH OF THE NEW THING
Monthly Anchor Scripture
"Remember ye not the former things, neither consider the things of old. Behold, I will do a new thing; now it shall spring forth; shall ye not know it? I will even make a way in the wilderness, and rivers in the desert."
Isaiah 43:18–19 (KJV)
DAY 23 — AUGUST 23, 2026
WEEK 4 — BECOMING THE NEW THING
Reality: God’s new thing is not only for you; it is meant to bless others.
Becoming a Light in Your Generation
Anchor Scripture
Matthew 5:14–16 (NKJV)
“You are the light of the world. A city that is set on a hill cannot be hidden. Nor do they light a lamp and put it under a basket, but on a lampstand, and it gives light to all who are in the house. Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works and glorify your Father in heaven.”
Opening Thought
Light does not negotiate with darkness; it simply shines and displaces it.
God did not save you, equip you, and bring you into a new season just for your personal comfort. The ultimate objective of spiritual transformation is public influence that points people back to God.
In a world often filled with moral compromise, confusion, and despair, believers are called to stand out as beacons of truth, integrity, and hope.
Becoming a light means bringing God's presence, values, and excellence into every space you occupy—your workplace, classroom, community, and digital platforms.
Reflection
You do not need a pulpit to preach a powerful sermon; your life, conduct, and character speak every single day.
Daniel did not hide his faith in Babylon. His commitment to prayer, unwavering integrity, and exceptional work ethic made him an indispensable leader across multiple administrations (Daniel 6). His light was so bright that kings acknowledged the supreme power of God.
Shining your light in everyday spaces requires three intentional commitments:
Excellence: Doing your work with such diligence that it demands respect.
Integrity: Choosing truth and moral purity even when no one is watching.
Compassion: Serving people with sincere kindness and active love.
When culture grows darker, your light should not dim—it should shine even brighter. Do not shrink back or hide your convictions.
Prayer
Lord, make me a bright light in my generation. Forgive me for times I have hidden my faith out of fear or conformity. Fill me with holy boldness, excellence, and love so that through my daily life, career, and character, people will see Your goodness and glorify You. In Jesus' name, Amen.
Declarations
- I am the light of my world, and I refuse to remain hidden.
- My life reflects God's integrity, wisdom, and excellence daily.
- Darkness has no power over my environment because Christ shines through me.
- My influence draws people closer to God and transforms my community.
Spirit Challenge
Perform one intentional act of kindness or service today in a public or professional space, clearly demonstrating the love and character of Christ to someone outside your church circle.
Closing Exhortation
The world is waiting for genuine light, not louder arguments. Live visibly, serve faithfully, and let your character reveal the reality of God to your generation.
