AUGUST 2026
OUR MONTH OF THE NEW THING
Monthly Anchor Scripture
"Remember ye not the former things, neither consider the things of old. Behold, I will do a new thing; now it shall spring forth; shall ye not know it? I will even make a way in the wilderness, and rivers in the desert."
Isaiah 43:18–19 (KJV)
DAY 12
WEEK 2 — ALIGNING WITH THE NEW THING
Focus: Surrender, order, character, health, and spiritual positioning.
Reality: New assignments often require new levels of knowledge and competence.
Learning What the Next Season Requires
Anchor Scripture
Proverbs 18:15 (KJV)
"The heart of the prudent getteth knowledge; and the ear of the wise seeketh knowledge."
Opening Thought
You cannot prepare for a new assignment with yesterday's knowledge alone.
God may open the door, but you still need the competence to function effectively inside it.
Prayer is essential.
Faith is essential.
But preparation matters too.
Reflection
Daniel did not become influential in Babylon by ignoring learning.
Joseph did not enter Pharaoh's palace without years of development.
Paul's ministry was strengthened by knowledge, experience, and understanding.
The new thing may require you to learn something you have never learned before.
A new opportunity may require a new skill.
A new responsibility may require greater communication.
A new business may require technology.
A new ministry may require leadership.
A new season may require emotional maturity.
Do not be threatened by what you do not yet know.
Learn.
Ask questions.
Read.
Practice.
Seek mentors.
Use technology wisely.
Develop competence.
There is nothing unspiritual about becoming better equipped for the work God has given you.
Prayer
Lord, give me wisdom to recognize what my next season requires. Give me humility to learn, discipline to practice, and courage to improve. Connect me with the right knowledge and people, and help me use what I learn for Your glory.
Declarations
- I am teachable, adaptable, and willing to grow.
- God gives me wisdom to recognize what my next season requires.
- I develop the knowledge and skills necessary for my assignment.
- I turn opportunities into competence through preparation.
- What I learn becomes a tool for Kingdom impact.
Spirit Challenge
Spend at least 30 minutes today learning something directly connected to your future goals or current assignment.
Closing Exhortation
Do not pray for a door while refusing to prepare for what is behind it. Learn what the next season requires and begin becoming the person capable of carrying it.
Live differently.
